What's In My Bag?

I've seen "What's In My Bag?" posts a lot on blogs and youtube and thought it would be fun to do one myself. I've always been a bag lady, thanks to my mom, and I'm constantly swapping out purses. But for the most part, what's inside of my bag stays the same. Keep reading to see what my key purse staples are!

I've been dying for one of these vintage leather hard side purses for years. But they are so unique (and I'm so picky) that I had never found the right one for me. While I was exploring the Hawthorne District in Portland during our trip to Oregon, I stumbled into this gorgeous bag in a cute shop called 4PDX. They are a teensy little vintage store that carries mostly home decor but also had some jewelry and purses. When I saw the purse, my mom could immediately tell that I was in love. She sweetly offered to buy it for me and I gladly accepted. For anyone who is wondering, the purse was priced at $48 but my mom, the bargain queen, snagged it for $40. For a vintage piece in such amazing condition is a great price.

As you can see, since its hard sided, it is a super structured bag. The strap has been softened over time, so it wears comfortably on my shoulder. In a pinch I can sling it over my head and wear it as a crossbody just a really short crossbody. The bag itself does look small on the outside, or at least smaller than what I am used to, but is actually really roomy on the inside. The wide base lets me fit tons of stuff inside of it!

I'm a simple girl who likes simple things. I knew I wanted a clear phone case so that I could stick whatever little instax photos inside of it. Of course right now I would have one of my favorite person, my husband, while he's deployed. Simple, cute, perfect. I also like to carry around this tiny baby Panasonic Lumix GM1 mirrorless camera. Sometimes carrying around my super heavy DSLR gets to be so daunting. Having a tiny but quality alternative makes my life a lot easier when I'm out and about but still want to snag photos of the kids. Its been my go to Disneyland camera for a few years now!

Since there are no pockets in this bag, I have to make my own with this Vans pouch. I keep my compact, lipsticks, and my absolute favorite lip balm in it. I have a few Balm Dotcoms but I always go back to the coconut scented one. Its the most hydrating balm without being sticky and the smell is subtle and beachy. I'm not usually a fan of coconut scented beauty products but this one is actually really great. As far as lipstick goes, I pretty much only use anything that is considered "sheer matte" these days. I love that they are lightweight, subtle enough to feel natural but still gives a pretty pop of color. My two faves are: Glossier's Generation G in Like and Colourpop's Blotted Lip in Candy Floss.

I usually carry around massive wallets but this bag definitely calls for a smaller one. This Kate Spade wallet is an outlet exclusive I believe but carries 6 cards, cash, and coins. Definitely a mini workhorse. I always have a pair of sunnies in my bag, sometimes I have two or three pairs in there. Because a girl needs options ya know?? These over the top shades I found at Red Light U District, a vintage store I worked at 11 years ago when I lived in Seattle. It was fun going back this summer to see how much had changed. Not much had actually changed and I was able to find lots of fun pieces for my wardrobe.

I have to keep my glasses on me at all times because I need them to drive. Like legitimately it says I have to wear them on my drivers license. I have a few pairs, but these are my newest pair from Coastal! They are the Main And Central Friday style. I love the fresh shape of them and clear glasses are so in right now. You can't really go wrong with these guys. And lastly and most obviously, my keys! I love my oversized key ring! It has a screw clasp so it makes it easy to add or take off anything you need to. It fits perfectly around my wrist so I can just carry my keys on a quick trip to the post office or to drop the kids off at school. I picked it up at Poketo in The Line Hotel when Sarah and I stayed in Downtown LA during a girl's trip.

Well I hope you liked taking a little peek into my bag! Not sure how many of you find this kind of thing as interesting as I do but I had fun putting this post together. Hope you guys had a great weekend!
